Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science, established through a partnership with King's College School, Wimbledon and Nanjing Foreign Language School, is seeking an outstanding Teacher of IGCSE English (English as a Foreign Language) to join the school as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will teach English as a Foreign Language at IGCSE level, supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, together with the academic language needed to succeed across the curriculum.

This is an opportunity to work with motivated students in a high-performing bilingual and international school environment, helping them build the language skills and confidence required for IGCSE examinations and future academic study.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this English teaching position, candidates should have:

• Degree in English, English Language, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field

• Recognized teaching qualification, license or certification, such as UK QTS/PGCE or an equivalent US, Canadian or Australian teaching credential

• At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience

• Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) at Secondary level

• Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language or a comparable examination curriculum

• Strong understanding of second-language acquisition and academic English development

• Experience teaching within an international, bilingual, British or comparable Secondary school environment

• Able to meet Chinese work-permit requirements

• Able to join the school as soon as possible

• Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening

• Build students' academic vocabulary, grammar, accuracy and fluency

• Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language examinations

• Use assessment and feedback to identify individual needs and support progress

• Help students develop the confidence to use English successfully across their wider academic studies

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science opened in 2018 through a partnership between Nanjing Foreign Language School and King's College School, Wimbledon, with the support of the Wuxi local government. Since opening with 750 students, the school has grown to a community of just under 2,000 students.
