The Role

To enhance the overall English proficiency of our primary school students, create engaging and effective oral English classes and a professional English speech system, we are now recruiting a full-time foreign English teacher. We sincerely invite outstanding foreign talents who are passionate about education and skilled in teaching young children to join us and safeguard children's English learning and growth!

You will be primarily based in Foshan, at our partner school - often referred to as the “famous town of Lingnan and the dreamy water town.”

The position may also include occasional assignments in other cities across China. Therefore, this role requires a high level of autonomy, initiative, and self-motivation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching Primary School English Oral Courses

    • Responsible for teaching daily English oral courses for all grades in primary school. Adhere to the teaching syllabus, create an immersive and interactive English classroom, stimulate students' interest in oral expression, correct pronunciation, and improve fluency and communication skills.

    • Design engaging and relatable teaching activities tailored to the cognitive characteristics of primary school students, utilizing games, picture books, and scenario simulations to reduce the difficulty of oral English learning and encourage students to speak confidently and express themselves.

    • Manage classroom effectively, paying close attention to each student's learning status, providing timely feedback, and collaborate with Chinese teaching assistants to assign homework, track student progress, and provide other support.

  • English Speech Course Teaching

    • Independently oversee the teaching of the school's English speech club/specialized courses, developing a systematic speech teaching plan covering core content such as speech skills, pronunciation, body language, logical expression, and script writing.

    • Explore students' speech potential, guiding them in preparing for school-wide English speech competitions and city/district-level children's English competitions, providing pre-competition guidance, mock rehearsals, and script polishing.

    • Establish a campus platform for English speech demonstrations, organize small-scale speech events, create a strong English expression atmosphere, and enhance students' confidence and overall public speaking skills.

  • Other Teaching-Related Work

    • Participate in school English teaching and research activities, teacher training, open classes, and other teaching and research work to continuously optimize teaching methods and curriculum content.

    • Cooperate with the school to complete campus cultural activities, English Festival, international exchanges, and other related work, establishing a positive teacher image.

    • Abide by all school rules and regulations, comply with school teaching arrangements and management, actively communicate and cooperate with Chinese teachers and parents to form a joint force for home-school education.

Your Typical Schedule

This is a full-time role with a standard Monday–Friday schedule. Occasional weekend duties (such as participation in speech competitions) may be required, with compensatory time off provided during the week.

Spring & Fall Semesters : Teach at our partner school in Foshan.

Winter & Summer Camps: Focus on center-based teaching, with up to 30 hours per week, at our additional program locations across China

Job requirements

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above

  • An internationally recognized English teaching qualification certificate such as TEFL/TESOL/CELTA

  • Fluent English speaker, at a native English level.

  • The ability to obtain a legal work visa and residence permit (relevant materials such as a certificate of no criminal record and academic credentials are required).

Teaching Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English to young learners

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in English speech teaching and competition guidance, possessing solid theoretical knowledge of speech and practical coaching abilities.

  • Lively, patient, and approachable teaching style, with the ability to build strong relationships with students.

  • Strong understanding of the needs of ESL learners and effective strategies to support their language development
