General Science teacher (Grade 10)

NFLS British Columbia Academy (BCA) invites applications for a Grade 10 General Science Teacher. The successful candidate will teach the British Columbia Science course that integrates Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.


In this role, you will facilitate sophisticated, student-driven investigations, guiding learners to formulate complex questions, conduct ethical experiments, and critically analyze data. Cultivate a classroom where students evaluate the social implications of science and communicate evidence-based arguments with precision. Job requirements

  • The ideal candidate must have:

    • British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (CoQ)

    • Completion of a recognised teacher education programme, including a supervised practicum

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in General Science or Physics

    • At least two years of teaching experience in secondary science education

    • Experience teaching physics at the senior secondary level (AP experience strongly preferred)

  • Additional Expectations

    • Ability to teach across disciplines (physics, chemistry, and biology) at the Grade 10 level

    • Experience contributing to co-curricular activities, such as clubs or academic enrichment

    • Experience coaching or leading science competitions (e.g., physics, chemistry, or STEM-related competitions)

    • Willingness to participate fully in the wider life of the school
