Job description

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science (in partnership with King's College School, Wimbledon and Nanjing Foreign Language School) is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Computer Science (IGCSE/A-Level, Potential Leadership) to join a learning community that integrates the best of international and Chinese education.

We are looking for a student-focused educator, skilled at teaching IGCSE Computer Science, as well as higher level courses such as A-Level. Passionate about Computing, both theory and application, this candidate will possess a track record of delivering student external assessment results and sparking student interest in the subject.


A successful candidate will be collaborative, well-organized, incorporating inquiry and project-based instruction to students with intermediate to advanced levels of English. They will incorporate data and be an equal partner within a curriculum team to drive results. 


Beyond this, the ideal candidate will bring skills and enthusiasm beyond the computer science curriculum. For example, they might support other teachers in technology integration, or may have passion for supporting students to prepare for national and international computing or robotics contests.

Background

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science was founded with the strong support of the Wuxi local government, through a partnership between two world-leading schools – Nanjing Foreign Language School, China and King’s College School, Wimbledon, UK – all of whom aimed to build a “school of the future” which focuses on providing well-rounded education. It opened in September 2018 with 750 pupils and has a current enrollment of just under 2,000 students. Job requirements

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong academic background, including a related degree
  • 2+ years of good quality post-qualification experience including IGCSE as well as a higher level course, ideally A-Level
  • Able to demonstrate high level of student progress for a wide range of EAL learners 
  • Able to demonstrate a rigorous approach to planning and assessment 
  • Ability to collaborate, establish rapport and communicate in a Dual Language Immersion environment/multi-cultural contexts 
  • Experience preparing students for academic competitions and supporting other teachers with technology integration preferred
