  • Hangzhou, Zhejiang Sheng, China
Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science

Job description

Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science (formerly RDFZ King's College School Hangzhou) is seeking to appoint a Key Stage 3 and IGCSE First Language and Literature English Teacher to join King’s College International School, Hangzhou for a February 2025 start.

KCIS is a warm and collegiate international learning community in China.

  • Our teaching staff come from over 10 different countries.
  • We have 130 students across Grades 1-10.
  • Our student body represents over 20 different nationalities.
  • We follow the English National Curriculum and IGCSE pathway.
  • We offer attractive packages that compete with the best offered across the city and country.

We are a stable and growing school. You will teach small classes (average size: 13), working with highly engaged students, many of whom have native-level English, and supportive parents. We offer the English National Curriculum for Grades 1-8, with students progressing to IGCSE between Grades 9 and 10.

Our latest satisfaction surveys show overwhelming approval, with both students and parents rating us well over 90%. This is a testament to the strong sense of community and collaboration we’ve fostered. Furthermore, more than 40% of our students rank in the top 5% globally in English, Maths, and Science, as measured by GL Assessments' progress tests.

All the A grades in the world mean nothing if our students do not have the kindness, manners and resilience needed to back them up. In the recent China National School awards, we were runners up in the ‘Pastoral Education’ category: underpinning our commitment to this ethos.

Why you will love working with us

At KCIS, while focusing on student development, we place significant emphasis on staff welfare and professional growth. With a 95% staff retention rate over the last two years, our teaching team is happy and supported. Recent staff satisfaction surveys also reflect this, with ratings in the 90th percentile. We’re confident you will feel the same. A rich and diverse staff social calendar and welfare program, mean that you’ll always have something to do outside the classroom and will soon find that your colleagues also become close friends.

We offer regular internal leadership opportunities, with many staff members taking on roles such as Heads of House or Lead Practitioners. These opportunities allow our team to excel in their teaching while advancing their careers through professional development. We provide accredited senior leadership courses in partnership with King’s College Wimbledon, Cambridge Accredited Middle Leadership training, internal PLCs, and in-house training.

We’d love to hear from you! Don’t hesitate to reach out directly to our Recruitment Manager, Emily (emily.wang@dipont.com) who will put you directly in touch with our Head of School, Mr. Harry Roberts, to answer any questions or set up an initial chat.
