Job description

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science (in partnership with King's College School, Wimbledon and Nanjing Foreign Language School) is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Secondary Drama to join a learning community that integrates the best of international and Chinese education. 


The ideal candidate will have experience with learners for whom English is a second language. They will be equally confident working with both middle and high school students, with programmes including internally designed courses, IGCSE, and IBDP. Our performance spaces are highly impressive, including a fully equipped theatre and two smaller multi-function spaces. Extensive co-curriculars and productions are an integral part of our curriculum with an integrated K-12 expressive arts faculty providing exciting collaborative opportunities. These include both "participation" and "elite" activities to cater for our diverse student body.

Background

Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Science was founded with the strong support of the Wuxi local government, through a partnership between two world-leading schools – Nanjing Foreign Language School, China and King’s College School, Wimbledon, UK – all of whom aimed to build a “school of the future” which focuses on providing well-rounded education. It opened in September 2018 with 750 pupils and has a current enrollment of just under 2,000 students. This remarkable growth is testament to the quality of the school, its exciting vision and the support of partners, parents and the wider community.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Excited about teaching EAL learners throughout the age-range we offer (G9-12) 
  • 2+ years of good quality post-qualification experience
  • Able to demonstrate a rigorous approach to planning and assessment 
  • Ability to collaborate, establish rapport and communicate in a Dual Language Immersion environment/multi-cultural contexts 
  • Skills in using data to inform teaching and learning
